“repurpose”BUSINESS: Our used Fire Hose found a new job with Tiller Tugs, where it’s “repurposed” into rugged dog toys built to last. This is exactly the kind of reuse-driven business we love highlighting. If you’re turning second-life materials into products, we want to see it. Go check out Tiller Tugs’ site to see reuse in action.

Q: Do you “repurpose” our materials into products you sell? Want to be featured in our newsLETTER? Let us know!

WIMBLEDON”repurpose“: After Wimbledon, thousands of used tennis balls are “repurposed” into cozy, weatherproof nests for Britain’s tiny harvest mice. With small entry holes cut into them, the balls offer safe shelter in fields and hedgerows—turning discarded sports gear into a creative, conservation-minded solution for protecting endangered wildlife.

AFTER: “A lot of the panels ended up hidden once the plants filled in, but I found a few photos. We used them in cinderblock beds inside one of our greenhouses, and they’ve been great for our setup. We’re a nonprofit focused on growing native plants for pollinators, wildlife gardens, and wildland restoration projects with partners like CSU, USFS, and WRV. Recycled materials are a natural fit for both our values and our budget.” Stephen

BEFORE: “These Expanded Metal Panels got delivered to our scrap metal yard here in Texas from a highway construction project. They seem in really good shape. It seems sad to just cut these up and melt them down. Would you be interested in buying them for some creative re-use project?” Andy

Q: Like Andy, do you have any steel or metal material that you’d like to find a higher and better use for than sending it to scrap recycling facility to be melted down? If yes, we’re interested! Email Us Pictures and Details.
